BI/Query is an end-user query tool application that allows for quick and convenient information retrieval from PSU's Banner data warehouse. The Office of Information Technologies offers the PSU Banner community monthly BI/Query training for decision- support, report generation and other information needs. The training consists to two half-day sessions. Level 1 covers query building, report generation and formatting as it relates to Banner Student data. Level 2 covers more detailed querying and includes the use of wild cards, ad-hoc drill downs, filtering results, super queries, sub queries and calculated attributes. Prerequisite: BI/Query classes are intended for both Macintosh and Windows users who currently have an Odin account and Banner access. Odin accounts can be obtained by calling User Support Services at 5-HELP. Please register early. Registration is limited to 24 individuals. |

It is a light-weight alternative to Blackboard, offering basic course communication tools such as email, announcements, chat, links, threaded conversations, and file/image storage. The tool is easily activated by the instructor for any course created in Banner. Come to this session to learn how to set-up a basic course homepage; upload files, links, and photos; and create emails, announcements, and threaded conversations. This workshop will cover the basics of image editing with Photoshop. This includes sizing, cropping, and rotating of images, as well as image "re-touching", and use of transparency. Calling all graphic designers! This class is designed to teach you how to get the most out of making flyers, posters and others beautiful works of digital graphic design. This class is designed to teach you how to work with the Adobe Illustrator interface, and why it can be incredibly useful for making flyers, banners, posters, and more.
We will be working with scanning and optimizing images into Illustrator, gradients, the Live Trace function, as well as going over how to manually trace an image or sketch. A lot of these images will be unique to what you'll be looking for, so participants are strongly encouraged to draw out something beforehand, or create something in Photoshop and bring that to the class.
